Data Engineer
The Data Engineer at AllPoints Fibre will join our Data and Analytics team. Reporting to the Director of Data and Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in our data transformation.

At the core of this initiative is the strategic use of data, which will enable us to deliver exceptional customer service while minimising operational costs through automation. This role would suit an experienced data professional who has previously built data infrastructure around the Microsoft Fabric analytics platform. The role will require you to work closely with stakeholders across our business to deliver reliable data in appropriate format for reporting needs.
Role overview:
Data engineers at AllPoints Fibre are responsible for designing, building and maintaining the infrastructure and systems that collect, store and process corporate data for reporting and analysis.
Key tasks and attributes:
- Delivering complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Collaboration in a transient team environment
- Adaptability to frequently changing priorities
- Working with DataLake / Lakehouse / Warehouse paradigms and associated data models.
- Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Fabric Analytics Platform (Azure SQL, Synapse, PowerBI)
- Use of Python for data engineering tasks, including data ingestion from APIs, creation and management of parquet files, execution of ML models.
- Use with SQL for data engineering tasks and supporting Data Analysts with efficient and performant SQL.
- Performance optimisation of data ingestion and query performance for MSSQL (or transferable skills from another RDBMS)
- Familiar with data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
- Experience of working with Terabyte data sets and managing rapid data growth.
