Senior Accounts Payable Analyst
We’re looking for an experienced AP analyst to support our Accounts Payable function. We want someone who rolls and up their sleeves and shares the workload in a high-volume team – but also stops and looks at the work being carried out and finds a better more automated way.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this role will be a key part of ensuring that all supplier ledgers are maintained, invoices, approvals and payments are processed, and all relevant reconciliations are carried out in a timely manner (vendors and bank).
The role would suit a driven candidate with a with senior experience in accounts payable (ideally on NetSuite). We are looking for someone who embraces change and enjoys the challenge of utilising technology and their experience to optimise the finance function.
This is a Hybrid role with an expectation of attending our Reading office twice per week.
What you will be doing:
- Process and verify invoices (using scan and capture technology), ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures
- Partner with the business and procurement teams to ensure costs are understood and coded correctly – happily reaching out and spending time with key business contacts to keep things working smoothly
- Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring accurate allocation and recording of expenses
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records in the ERP system (NetSuite)
- Respond promptly to vendor and internal business user inquiries and resolve payment-related issues
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals
- Partner with AP Manager and Head of Financial Operations on key treasury activities such as cash forecasting, bank platform maintenance and liquidity management, ensuring compliance and controls are maintained
About you:
We are looking for someone with proven experience as an Accounts Payable Analyst or Supervisor who is proficient in accounting software (ideally NetSuite) and MS Office, particularly Excel. You should have excellent organisational skills, time-management skills, be an excellent communicator and have strong interpersonal skills. You should thrive working in fast paced environments and be able to manage and prioritise deadlines.
It would be good, but not essential if you have
- NetSuite experience
- Broadband/Telecoms experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience of working in a fast paced start-up or scale-up environment
